Following on from a highly competitive tender process that took almost two years to complete, Chester Machine Tools (
www.chestermachinetools.com) has supplied and installed a V6L vertical machining centre and an Asteroid CSL5530 CNC slant bed lathe, both with Fanuc controls, at Brunel University London in Uxbridge.
They will assist research into high-performance light alloys, efficient manufacturing technologies and component innovations.
Anthony Edwards, Chester Machine Tools’ sales director, said: “We had to take several important factors into consideration to fulfill the customer’s requirements.
“As well as meeting the university’s CNC machine specification, the machines had to be carefully chosen, as they were to be installed on a second-level mezzanine platform.
“Facing intense competition for this project, the team at Chester feels extremely proud to have won the tender for this globally renowned engineering university and its innovative research centre.”
Chester’s range of CNC machining centres, CNC lathes and Style lathes is available for viewing and demonstration at its Burntwood showroom in Staffordshire.
