New apprentices at Bentley MotorsCrewe-based Bentley Motors (www.bentleymedia.com) has welcomed its latest intake of apprentices, undergraduates and graduates; they join the company’s 4,000-strong workforce, as it prepares to celebrate its centenary year.

The 83 new recruits are in commercial areas such as sales and marketing, communications, people and digital, finance and purchasing, as well as the engineering and manufacturing departments.

Astrid Fontaine — member of the board for people, digitalisation and IT — said: “As we reflect and celebrate the achievements of the company over the past 100 years, it is more important than ever to look ahead and prepare for the next chapter.

“This starts with recruiting the next generation — our experts of tomorrow — who are joining a highly skilled, motivated and passionate workforce.”

Out of the 83 new recruits, 40 apprentices have started training at the company’s headquarters in Crewe, bringing the total number of apprentices to almost 140.

Half of the new apprentice intake will follow an advanced apprenticeship programme lasting three or three-and-
a-half years, while the rest will study for a higher or degree-level apprenticeship.

Meanwhile,12 graduates will follow a two-year development plan that will see them working on key business projects, while 31 undergraduates will follow a 12-month development programme as part of their studies.
