Lloyds Bank announced earlier this month that it is committing another £5 million to its sponsorship of the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre (AMTC) (
www.the-amtc.co.uk) on the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) campus, near Coventry.
This will take its total funding to £10 million over 10 years, supporting around 3,500 manufacturing apprentices and engineers by 2024.
It will equip them with the skills required to be at the forefront of manufacturing, and it will mean a 350%
increase on the original target for training apprentices, which was made in 2015.
The purpose-built facility gives apprentices a range of training and experience of real-life projects — from apprenticeship programmes through engineer up-skilling courses to graduate development schemes, including executive-level training.
