Northampton-based Igus UK Ltd (www.igus.co.uk) will display its latest energy supply systems at Advanced Engineering 2018 (Stand D32) at the Birmingham NEC on 31 October and 1 November, which have been through rigorous testing at the company’s 2,750m² test facility.

This was the case when Igus developed its honeycomb structure; cables and hoses are simply inserted into the honeycomb (called the CFU), and the surrounding assembly is closed.

Compared to cable tie-wraps or other ‘strain relief’ solutions, an engineer can save around 80% of normal assembly and engineering time.

The honeycomb system is also extremely flexible in its application, as new cables can be inserted or replaced by hand.

Igus will also demonstrate its Drylin Delta robot, which has been developed to satisfy the need for a lightweight automation solution for assembly tasks.

Available directly from stock as a pre-assembled kit or delivered ready to install, the system is designed for immediate use.
