Welsh manufacturer secures F4N statusNorth Wales-based FAUN Trackway Ltd (www.fauntrackway.co.uk) has set its sights on expanding into the nuclear sector, after securing Fit For Nuclear (F4N) status, which demonstrates that operations at its factory in Llangefni meet the strict standards required by the nuclear industry.

Over the past 75 years, the company’s skills in design, fabrication, welding and painting have been applied to complex and bespoke projects that included bridges, torpedo boats, half-track Land Rovers, aviation, aerial masts and London buses.

Its product range now includes portable roadways, helipads and marine access solutions, which are used in military and civilian applications world-wide, especially where the ground conditions are extremely poor.

Chris Kendall, FAUN Trackway’s CEO, said: “We decided to target the nuclear industry after much research and discussion, and our team has been working hard to make the necessary changes since we became involved with the F4N programme six months ago.

We are now delighted to have been granted F4N status, particularly in such a short time-frame.”

Engineering manager Gareth Williams said: “We are extremely grateful for the support shown by the Welsh government over the last few months.

“Its F4N programme enables Welsh companies to apply for F4N status fully funded, and we look forward to working in partnership with other Welsh companies as we diversify into the nuclear and supporting industries.”
