Fabricator secures £2 million of new businessA Wakefield-based specialist fabricator has more than doubled the size of its business over the last five years after announcing £2 million of new business in 2018.

Conservatory Outlet, which employs 130 people at its 60,000ft2 facility, has seen its turnover grow from £8.4 million in 2013 to £18.3 million so far this year, thanks to a strategic plan focused on boosting its network of retail customers through tailored sales, marketing and operational support.

The award-winning manufacturer (www.conservatoryoutlet.co.uk) of high-quality home renovation solutions has also completed its largest product launch to date, introducing the Extreme Collection of windows and doors to the market.

Supported by a major marketing drive, it is anticipated that this roll-out will generate further sales opportunities between now and 2020.

Managing director Michael Giscombe (pictured) said: “We are continually innovating our products, the technology we use and the customer service we deliver, and it appears to be paying off, with year-on-year growth since 2013.

"Our Yorkshire factory has also enjoyed significant investment in advanced production capabilities, and we’ve matched this spending in the creation of 43 new jobs, which ensures that we have the skills we need to meet demand.

"With the addition of Bon Accord Glass in Aberdeen and Styleglaze in Daventry this year, we have boosted our geographic coverage even further and are able to support even more customers.”

Conservatory Outlet recently won the Manufacturer of the Year title at the inaugural Wakefield Manufacturing Awards.

The company impressed the judges with “the way it adds value to its service offering for its network of customers” and its approach to developing a sustainable supply chain.
