Chesterfield-based BG Engineering (
www.bgeng.com) — a manufacturer of precision machined components — is celebrating after winning the Excellence in Manufacturing Award at the
2018 Derbyshire Times Business Awards last month.
Now in their 10th year, the awards aim to recognise the very best in local business and commerce; BG Engineering won the award for its “modern, efficient and innovative approach to manufacturing”.
Managing director Antony Holmes and business development manager Fabio Cosenza attended the event, which was hosted by Jessica Cunningham, star of TV show
The Apprentice.
Mr Holmes said: “Being named as the Excellence in Manufacturing Award winner is the perfect finish to what has been a fantastic 30th-anniversary year for BG Engineering.”
Formed in 1988, ISO 9001-accredited BG Engineering has become one of the region’s leading CNC machining companies.
It has more than 30 staff (including four apprentices), 18 CNC machines, and customers in both the UK and Europe — including some of the largest global OEMs in the energy industry.
The company recently secured AS9100 accreditation, the international management system standard for the aerospace industry. BG Engineering is also a member of a number of aerospace industry bodies, including the EEF, NDI, Midlands Aerospace and the North West Aerospace Alliance.
