Prima Power Laserdyne (
www.primapowerlaserdyne.com) has announced the release of FastTrim CAD/CAM software for use with its multi-axis laser processing systems.
This ‘all in one’ software enables users to model parts, define process paths, define feature locations and build part fixtures.
It was developed in conjunction with Cenit AG and is designed to meet the requirements of applications in the aerospace, automotive, general manufacturing and medical-device industries.
FastTrim, which supports the Laserdyne 795, 430 and 606D systems, allows users to take full advantage of the capabilities offered by these systems, including welding (with and without wire feed), percussion drilling, hole trepanning and cutting using QCW and CW lasers.
The benefits offered by FastTrim include: full part simulation with collision detection, thereby allowing programmers to eliminate potential issues before sending the program to the shopfloor; ‘auto programming’ functions to automatically program the part based on the geometry of the model; the support of six axes simultaneously; and the ability to modify tool-paths through sheet offset, cutter offsets and axis translations.
FastTrim can also be used with Prima Power Laserdyne systems featuring the S94P controller.
