Tamworth-based Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC —
www.itc-ltd.co.uk) has installed a new routing machine to help with the development of cutting tools for the sign industry.
The new AXYZ 4080 gives ITC the machine capacity to tweak and enhance existing product lines, while also acting as a test-bed for future product developments.
Sally Hunt, ITC technical sales manager, said: “The new AXYZ opens up new opportunities for ITC and its customers.
For any sign makers having issues with particular materials and jobs, we can take a sample of the material and do in-house testing without disrupting their production.
“Having our own routing machine gives us the opportunity to apply a variety of cutting tools and machining parameters to achieve the best possible result.
“We have already improved cycle times, tool life and surface finishes for end users by having the time to offer in-depth investigation and analysis.”
Installed at the end of September, the AXYZ 4080 enables ITC to conduct extensive trials with a variety of cutting-tool geometries, material compositions and coating technologies on every material and customer requirement that comes through the door.
