Partnership enhances system capabilitiesUS-based Siemens PLM Software (www.siemens.com/plm) recently announced a partnership with Germany-based Modelon GmbH (www.modelon.com).

Its Optimica Compiler Toolkit will be used as the default Modelica engine in the latest release of Simcenter Amesim — a suite of simulation software tools used to model, analyse and predict the performance of mechatronics systems.

This partnership will allow Simcenter Amesim users to develop, re-use and integrate Modelica libraries with Simcenter Amesim native libraries for dynamic multi-physics systems modelling.

While taking advantage of full Modelica standard support, users can benefit from the robust Simcenter Amesim solver and its powerful platform capabilities, such as performance analyser or linear analysis.

This initial integration is the foundation for a long-term partnership, with plans for additional support for Modelon industrial libraries in future Simcenter Amesim releases.

As an open software vendor, Siemens is pleased to reinforce the Modelica standard support, and it continues to deliver solutions that interoperate effectively with other modelling environments through the use of interfaces and industry standards that empower customers to adapt software for business-specific processes.
