Axiom strengthens team with three appointmentsChichester-based Axiom Product Development Ltd (www.axiompd.co.uk) — a specialist machining and tooling business — has appointed three new staff after a successful six months, with double-digit growth, expansion into new markets and a number of new customers.

Martin Gilbert has been appointed to the new position of production supervisor — created in response to the increased workload. Responsible for the specialist machines plus a team of skilled machinists and finishing experts,

Mr Gilbert has over 25 years of experience in mould making, CNC machining and programming, tool making, jigs and fixtures, and CAD design.

Meanwhile, Daryl Bennett has been appointed technical engineer. He has specialist skills in machining and over seven years of experience in precision engineering — in particular, with Formula One clients.

He will play a key role in production, with his skills improving the efficiency of the Axiom business and reducing materials wastage.

In response to an increase in specialist business for the company, Andy Hitchcock has been appointed to the role of finishing engineer. With over 10 years of experience in the automotive and engineering sectors,

Mr Hitchcock is responsible for the hand-finishing of the tooling parts and complex assembly fixtures.

Managing director Alan Rendle-Eames said: “We’ve had an extremely busy six months, when we’ve significantly grown
the business — both with existing customers and new clients.

"I’m delighted to announce these new staff appointments which will enable us to improve our efficiencies, broaden our skills and maximise the output and capabilities of our business.

"This is a very exciting time for Axiom, with further investment in machinery, skills and people coming in 2019.”
