Expanding automotive company recruitsCoventry-based Marchant Cain, an innovative automotive engineering firm, has officially opened a new ‘state of the art’ headquarters in Coventry and is now planning to expand into new markets and recruit more staff.

The managing director of the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership Growth Hub, Craig Humphrey, was invited along to cut the ribbon of the 12,000ft2 facility at Banner Park in Wickmans Drive.

Marchant Cain (www.marchantcain.com) designs and manufactures parts for luxury car companies, including Aston Martin, Porsche and Bentley; it is currently working on contracts for customers in America, Germany, Italy and Croatia.

Company director Pamela Cain said: “We previously carried out manufacturing on a small scale, but we needed larger premises to expand this area of the business, due to the contracts we were bidding for — and winning.

“With advice from the Growth Hub, we have started to explore new sectors, and the rail industry is looking particularly promising.

“We have developed a relationship with a company that makes a fibre-glass composite to replace the traditional sound walls needed alongside railway lines.”

Mr Humphrey said: “Marchant Cain is a great example of how the region has worked together to help an innovative company continue to move forward.

"Previously, it concentrated on its role as an automotive engineering consultancy, but we have helped it become a much wider business involved in new sectors.

“Ms Cain has always been particularly keen to give young people a chance, and the company’s apprentices have learned highly valuable skills.”
