Kirklees College in Huddersfield recently celebrated the refurbishment of its Hurco training and demonstration centre with an Open Day.
Visitors were able to see the latest installation of four WinMax dual-screen consoles and the centre’s three Hurco machines in action.
The event was attended by a total of 19 visitors from 12 companies, keen to see live demonstrations of the latest technology and find out how the facility could benefit theirapprentices.
The training partnership with Kirklees College gives Hurco (www.hurco.com
) a permanent base in the North of England where it can run training classes for its customers, while also enabling local apprentices to gain valuable hands-on experience on a wide range of equipment.
Kirklees College prides itself on its ability to give engineering apprentices the type of vocational training that industry requires, and thanks to its partnership with Hurco, it is bridging the gap between the world of engineering and education.
Hurco’s northern-area sales manager, Cliff Hodgkinson, said: “The Open Day proved to be a huge success — the revamped training facilities looked very professional and definitely made an impact on our customers.
"We were able to demonstrate the ability of our machines, and we have booked up two training courses over the coming weeks — just from this event alone.
"We are looking forward to doing an increasing number of demonstrations and training events at Kirklees College in the future.”
