Wabtec Corporation (www.wabtec.com
) has been selected to provide fully integrated Positive Train Control (PTC), digital imaging, and data transfer and analytics capabilities for Iowa Northern Railway Co — its first such deal since completing its merger with GE Transportation.
Under the contract, Wabtec will provide an integrated offering, including its Interoperable Electronic Train Management System PTC safety-overlay solution, LDRS-V video recorder, training, and system integration services across Iowa Northern Railway’s entire locomotive fleet.
William Magee, general manager at Iowa Northern Railway Co, said: “We are preparing to deliver PTC operations for two Class 1 railroads under a stringent timeline.
“Having a ‘one-stop shop’ for the various components of PTC implementation is an important factor for us, and Wabtec has delivered — with a turn-key installation and operating plan provided under one roof.”
Rajendra Jadhav, president of Wabtec Electronics, said: “This deal represents an exciting milestone for Wabtec, as we combine GE Transportation’s digital and analytics solutions with our electronic systems and PTC offerings.
"We are honoured to support Iowa Northern Railway with a new offering that integrates the leading capabilities of both companies and advances productive synergies for a digital rail future.”
