New ‘partnership’ for AGS

New ‘partnership’ for AGSCoventry-based Advanced Grinding Solutions (AGS — www.advancedgrinding solutions.co.uk) has announced a partnership with the Italian filtration systems manufacturer Comat.

Managing director Chris Boraston said: “We have been importing a wide range of grinding and finishing machinery into the UK for decades, and we have previously relied mostly on machine builders to specify filtration units for their machines.

“This initially worked reasonably well, but it has been problematic in recent years, because UK-based support for filter units was often non-existent; and where it was available, getting good or fast support was proving increasingly difficult, because most UK-based distributors of filter systems are excluded from the purchasing process.

"Filters are usually bought on a turn-key basis directly from the manufacturers, so UK-based distributors of filter units were reluctant to help us when there were problems.

“However, Rollomatic — our biggest agency and a supplier of many tool-grinding machines into the UK every year — works closely with Comat, and we were given excellent references.

"Moreover, Comat filter systems use the manufacturer’s Intelligent Performance Technology, which allows them to be remotely monitored in real time and fine-tuned by Comat to ensure that the optimum filtration quality is obtained at all times. We have already made our first few sales into the UK market.

“Today, more than 20,000 machine tools are using Comat filtration systems, with more than 120 million litres of metal-working oil being super-filtered every day.

"Comat’s super-filtration technology uses continuously regenerating filtering media to ensure that particles larger than 2-3μm are removed from cutting fluids.”

Comat filtration systems will be making their UK debut on the AGS stand at MACH 2020; the company will also be at the EMO exhibition in September (Stand A7, Hall 7).
