Nottinghamshire-based Joseph Merritt Group, a heavy-machinery moving specialist, has further invested in its transport fleet with the purchase of a new Nooteboom four-axle semi-low-loader trailer, which will be used mainly to transport the company’s fleet of 36 Te Versa-Lift 60/80 fork-lift trucks.
Managing director James Merritt said (
www.merritts.uk.com): “We are primarily an engineering business that specialises in the removal, transport and installation of heavy machinery.
“This requires us to have a continuous programme of re-investment in our transport and lifting equipment.
“Ensuring that we offer a machinery-moving service using a modern fleet of vehicles is important in winning new work, because we are acting as an extension of our client’s brand.”
The new trailer was ordered with bespoke features that include: a reinforced floor to withstand high point loads; electric remote-control axle steering; air suspension with raise and lower function; extra-long hydraulic folding ramps with a hydraulic sliding function; and SAF axles.
