West Bromwich-based RJW Metalworks — a specialist in the design and manufacture of bespoke structural steel — has received a £35,000 investment boost from the Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF), delivered by Wolverhampton-based BCRS Business Loans.
RJW director Richard Edward (
www.rjwmetalworks.co.uk) said: “The funding has enabled us to renovate our factory, invest in advancing our design capabilities, take on three additional staff — including an apprentice — and cover upfront costs such as machinery and materials.”
After these business improvements, the Steel Construction Certification Scheme (SCCS) has confirmed that the company’s load-bearing structural steel meets British and European quality standards; this opens up new opportunities for growth.
Mr Edward said: “We are thrilled to have had the quality of our products — such as steel flooring, hand-rails and mezzanine flooring systems — recognised by a national and international quality standard.
"We are committed to providing smart solutions and creating long-lasting relationships with customers and suppliers.
"RJW Metalworks was established in March by myself and fellow director Wayne Everiss, but our team has over 100 collective years of experience in engineering and fabrication.”
Lynn Wyke, senior business development manager at BCRS Business Loans, said: “We are delighted to have been able to support the growth of RJW Metalworks; it is excellent to see how well the company has progressed in such a short space of time under Richard and Wayne’s leadership.
"As a lender of social impact, we are also pleased to see that RJW has created new jobs for local people, and we look forward to following the company on its growth journey.”
