Brechin-based 3-D printing specialist Angus 3D Solutions has embarked on a three-year growth plan with the help of a £39,000 Regional Selective Assistance (RSA) grant from Scottish Enterprise (it also received a grant from Zero Waste Scotland in 2018, which helped to boost its profits last year).
Managing director Andy Simpson and employee John MacLeod will now be joined by a new recruit; the company’s capabilities now include rapid prototyping, the remanufacture of parts, bespoke carbon fibre manufacture and a vacuum-forming service.
Angus 3D’s (

Mr Simpson said: “I’ve been talking about the huge opportunity that the circular economy offers the manufacturing and oil and gas sectors for years now. Its ability to save on costs as well as time and materials is huge but still in the early stages of being exploited here, so it is great to have the backing from Scottish Enterprise and Angus Council.”
Jane Martin, Scottish Enterprise’s managing director of business services and advice, said: “Angus 3D Solutions is a great example of how entrepreneurial talent, skills and ideas can create a successful business and new jobs.”
