Trio of Kimla fibre lasers installed Manchester-based Concept Metal Products Ltd has invested in a third Kimla fibre laser to boost its 10m metal-cutting capability.

The company specialises in fabricating larger items for a range of industries, including highways, rail, nuclear and waste management.

With two Kimla machines (a 4kW 10 x 2m and a 6kW 4 x 2m) already supplied by Leeds-based MBA Engineering Ltd (www.mba-eng.co.uk), the metal fabricator has added a 6kW 10 x 2m machine.

General manager Dean Barnard said: “Being able to offer expanded cutting capabilities to our customers across a range of industries is a huge benefit to us, and we can offer these services with a high level of efficiency and precision that comes hand-in-hand when working with Kimla machines.

"As this is our third laser cutting machine investment, we needed a machine able to manufacture long parts; this is something only we can offer in the north-west region.

"Combined with our LVD tandem press, capable of forming parts up to 9,000mm long with a first-bend depth up to 605mm, the additional Kimla laser cutter will assist in boosting this area of the business.”

Bradley McBain, managing director of MBA Engineering, said: “As the UK agent for Kimla — a Polish manufacturer of fibre lasers — we strive to provide the best possible service to our customers by finding them the perfect machine to suit their needs, and we can create bespoke machines where needed.

"This is another example of how we deliver solutions to match a company’s business strategy, rather than just an off-the-shelf solution.”
