SKF Cooper (www.skf.com) has invested £720,000 in a new Omega Sinto automatic carousel moulding line (including a Spartan 300 series mixer and sand reclamation plant) for its facility in King’s Lynn.

The previous green-sand jolt-squeeze moulding line had been in place for over 40 years but had reached the end of its serviceable life.

The new moulding line has enabled SKF Cooper to increase its capacity, bringing 88% of its out-sourced castings in-house to the King’s Lynn facility.

The project also involved a major refurbishment of the foundry, including the preparation of new foundations, new lighting and a crane system to facilitate the installation and management of the new equipment.
