LEVC enters significant growth phase Coventry-based London EV Co (LEVC) is ‘powering into 2020’, growing its product range, export markets and employment opportunities.

The company has expanded its product line-up beyond the TX taxi with the TX shuttle variant and will launch an electric van in the autumn, taking its successful TX technology into the commercial-vehicle sector.

Building on a record year in 2019, with more than 2,500 units sold, LEVC is forecasting a 50% increase in demand this year, and it plans to be operating in 20 countries by the end of 2020. In addition, over 100 new jobs will be created at its advanced manufacturing facility in Ansty.

CEO Joerg Hofmann said (www.levc.com): “LEVC is at the forefront of re-inventing mobility, by transforming from an iconic British taxi brand to a leading electric-vehicle manufacturer.

"We are at a pivotal time in LEVC’s history, and our strategic direction is on track, as we deliver planned growth. I am delighted to be able to create new job opportunities this year to support the continuing success of our business.”

Both the TX models and the new electric van use LEVC’s proven e-City range extender technology, with 80 miles of emissions-free driving and an extended electrically driven total range of over 370 miles.

The new van will offer a full ‘distribution to door’ (not just ‘last-mile’) service, providing the critical link between out-of-town depots and city centres, while the TX Shuttle serves the growing need for on-demand public transport and taxi services.
