Nickel plating firm secures accreditationChesterfield-based Nitec/CBE+ — an electroless nickel plating specialist formerly known as Cooper Brown Enterprises — has achieved AS9100 certification after a rigorous audit of its Quality Management System by Lloyds Register.

CEO Marie Cooper (www.electroless-nickel-plating.co.uk) said: “Having secured AS9100 certification for our precision engineering business two years ago, it has been part of our growth plans to also secure this for our electroless nickel plating business.

"We achieved this certification within just seven months, and we believe we are the only UK company able to offer the aerospace sector AS9100 QMS standards in both precision engineering and electroless plating as a combined offering.”

Fabio Cosenza, business development manager, said: “Securing AS9100 for both our precision engineering and electroless plating businesses will enable us to develop further opportunities and partnerships with the aerospace and defence sectors, where we can become an integral part of their supply chain. We are excited about what the future holds.”

The company has plans in place to work towards attaining NADCAP and Fit 4 Nuclear certification, which will further strengthen its offer to the aerospace, defence and nuclear industries.

It has also embarked on the SC21 programme to enhance its aerospace credentials even further. This focuses on delivery, quality, sustainable improvement and other areas in order to boost the performance and increase the reliability of the aerospace supply chain.
