A commitment to on-going development and quality has resulted in Oxfordshire-based fabrication specialist Lti Metaltech (
www.lti-metaltech.com) being granted Fit 4 Nuclear (F4N) status, after stringent assessment and on-site verification at its Abingdon factory.
The F4N status, which lasts for four years, measures the company’s procedures against those used in the nuclear industry. It has been developed by the Nuclear AMRC and key partners to support manufacturers and other suppliers to the nuclear industry in their operations.
LTi Metaltech’s credentials have already been highlighted through its work with fusion energy pioneer Tokamak Energy, manufacturing a vacuum chamber for the company’s innovative spherical Tokamak ST40 fusion-reactor prototype.
In addition, the company has a long-standing track record in the production of MRI cryostats.
Technical director Edgar Rayner said: “Achieving the Fit 4 Nuclear status is a recognition of the hard work each member of staff at LTi Metaltech does on a daily basis.
"Over the years, we have worked to implement a culture of quality and continuous development at all levels of our organisation.
"We are excited about the opportunities that being granted Fit 4 Nuclear status will bring to us — and being involved in this highly specialised area.”
