Taiwan Excellence, an international campaign to promote leading manufacturers and their ‘smart machinery’ solutions, will host a ‘Taiwan Excellence Smart Machinery’ on-line press conference on 2 June from 8.30am to 10.30am (GMT).

To assist global manufacturers in carefully selecting machinery upgrades and automation, Taiwan Excellence has invited eight of Taiwan's leading machine tool manufacturers to showcase their most advanced smart machinery solutions.

The Covid-19 pandemic has massively damaged the global manufacturing industry and made countries aware of the importance of industry upgrading. Taiwan's Smart Machinery industry, which is well-known for its significant precision technology and massive ICT integration, recently completed the seemingly impossible task of establishing 92 mask production lines in 40 days, increasing production from 1.88 million pieces to 17 million pieces a day. This achievement clearly demonstrated the industry's rapid response capabilities and flexible management.

To familiarise global buyers with Taiwanese smart machinery, the press conference will host eight companies that represent the industry: HIWIN, FFG (Feeler), Solomon, Manford, Chin Fong, Grintimate, Tong Tai, and She Hong (Hartford).

The conference will showcase the companies’ products and solutions including precision components, digitally-controlled machine tools, automation equipment and smart controlling systems. A new concept ‘Taiwan Excellence Smart Machinery Virtual Pavilion’ will also be launched at the press conference, which will showcase 60 leading Smart Machinery products from 50 Taiwan Excellence brands and allow buyers to check them out on-line.

HIWIN's DATORKER Robot Reducer provides stable repeatability and positioning for over 7,000hr, in line with international standards. This makes HIWIN only the world’s third company to reach this standard. Reducer is widely used in robots, automation equipment, semi-conductor equipment and machine tools.

FEELER's new Smart five-axis machining centre combines intelligent operation with stable functionality. It can create a remote connection to the cloud that can read important information such as utilisation rate, idle analysis, etc. The chatter suppression technique allows for a reduction in cutting vibration by adjusting spindle speed and feed rate.

SOLOMON's AccuPick 3-D is an advanced 3-D vision technology that enables robots to perform complex pick-and-place tasks, even when different object types are mixed. The system is compatible with all major robot brands. The ‘state of the art’ 3-D optical module it uses ensures that picking is fast and accurate and covers a pick-up area as large as 2 x 2m.

MANFORD's VU-620 five-axis machining centre offers high speed, accuracy and reliable quality. The B/C-axis rotary operating table and linear guide methods provide high-performance ductility and greater anti-vibration capability, and 90% less oil and 80% less electricity than the normal lubrication system and pump motor. For industry buyers, this machine is suitable for 3-D cutting.

CHIN FONG's GTX Series power press is powered by a press-designated servo drive motor - high torque with full energy at low speed. Able to stabilise slide’s motion and tonnage, the free setting forming curve is available with ‘micro-inching’ in compliance with requirements for all kinds of forming — blanking, bending, drawing and extruding. Productivity is also greatly increased.

GRINTIMATE's CTS-100 Grinder is equipped with an exclusive hydrostatic system that effectively improves the grinding efficiency of the transmission gear. Combined with high stiffness, low friction and no wear characteristics, the grinding wheel can be widened to 300mm with one-feeding grinding, which can massively simplify the grinding process and shorten the process time to 45sec.

TONGTAI's ‘SP-5000P’, a horizontal five-axis machining centre, is developed to provide excellent machining performance for aluminum alloy parts. The two-axis tilting and rotary table, with a high-speed double DD motor drive, can be handled at all complex angles. High-precision tapered positioning pins ensure stability and a strong clamping force during machining processes.

HARTFORD's Hartrol Premium Controller has highly optimised and easy-to-control features that bring more capabilities and productivity to metal-cutting processes.
