In October of last year, Swiss-based
Tschudin AG, a renowned manufacturer of centreless grinding machines, unveiled its new and eye-catching Cube 350, a compact and high-performance centreless grinding machine at
EMO 2019 in Hannover, where it was referred to by the trade media as a “grinding beauty”.
Recently, the Cube 350 won the prestigious
Red Dot Design Award 2020. The Red Dot jury said: “The Cube 350 impresses with a self-contained, unusually elegant appearance. Thanks to an innovative layout, the machine is both ergonomic and efficient at the same time.”
With more than 6,500 submissions from more than 60 nations in 2020, the Red Dot Award is one of the largest international design competitions.
Tschudin partnered with Enrique Luis Sardi, an industrial machines design expert to develop the Cube 350.
Mr Sardi said: “The design puts humans at the centre — it was our goal to create a perfect symbiosis between user friendliness, simplicity and elegance.”
The Cube 350 can be manually loaded both by right-handed and left-handed people in an ergonomic and secure way – a patent pending innovation.
The high-precision, tri-axial CNC grinding machine features innovative automation solutions and offers users a true productivity leap. The Cube 350 features a very small footprint (2,558 x 1,735 x 1,320mm), maintenance and changeover are fast and easy, and it has been developed primarily for the processing of small components with a part diameter of up to 20mm.
