Macclesfield-based Bodycote, the world’s largest provider of heat treatments and specialist thermal processing services, has opened a new US facility in Syracuse, New York. It is the second one to be opened in North America in as many months, following on from the inauguration of the Elgin, Illinois facility in December 2020.

The new Syracuse facility, encompassing 60,000ft² of operating space, is now operational and offers a wide range of heat treatment processes, including vacuum heat treating, atmospheric carburising, low-pressure carburising, carbonitriding, ferritic nitro carburising, nitriding and aluminum heat treating. It is envisaged that the site will secure all major OEM approvals as well as Nadcap accreditation which it is already well on the way to achieving.
