XYZ Machine Tools has announced the grand opening of a brand new Scotland showroom. Located in Livingston, the facility will open its doors to existing and potential customers for the first time on 23 February and all are invited to attend the event as there is no requirement to register.
There will be live demonstrations from 9am until 3pm carried out on a selection of XYZ machine tools — so, whether the requirement is for prototype, low-volume, or production-level machining, there will be something of interest for all visitors.
Machines on display will range from an entry-level XYZ KMX 2000 turret mill, through the ProtoTRAK-controlled XYZ RMX bed mill and RLX lathes, to the large capacity RLX 780 ProTURN lathe. Weighing in at 8,600kgs the RLX 780 ProTURN features a swing over the bed of 780mm (1,090mm in the gap) and a distance between centres of 3,000mm.
The spindle is powered by a 32kW (43hp) motor with the gearbox providing two speed ranges from a low of 20rev/min through to 1,300rev/min. All ProtoTRAK-controlled machines feature the latest RX ProtoTRAK control with its touchscreen interface and innovative software solutions that make programming straightforward. Siemens-controlled machining and turning centres will be represented by an XYZ 750 LR linear rail machine, an XYZ 800 HD box slideway machining centre and a CT 65LTY turning centre.
An added incentive will be the offer of a £250 Ceratizit tooling voucher for every company attending, which can be spent on anything in the Ceratizit tooling catalogue. With refreshments served throughout the day and buffet lunch provided, there has never been a better time to see the capability of the extensive XYZ range of machine tools.
