Norco to drive innovation in AM with new appointmentMax Osmond joins Norco to drive innovation in additive manufacturing

Poole-based Norco has announced that Max Osmond has joined the company to drive additive manufacturing (AM) and CNC development. With a wealth of experience and a proven track record in the field, Norco says Mr Osmond’s appointment highlights the company’s commitment to innovation and growth.

Mr Osmond brings to Norco an extensive background in CNC kitting, additive manufacturing (AM), and 3-D printing, having served as a director at MSA Manufacturing Ltd for over 27 years. Based in Ferndown, Dorset, MSA Manufacturing specialised in the machining, cutting, and kitting of composite cores, fabric reinforcements, and sheet materials. Under Mr Osmond’s leadership, MSA Manufacturing became a key supplier to the UK market before it ceased trading in 2024.

His appointment comes at a pivotal time as Norco continues to expand its footprint in the AM sector in particular. His responsibilities include: developing the large-format 3-D printing segment to bolster production capabilities; supporting the integration of CNC operations with additive manufacturing for seamless workflows; and sharing strategic insights to pre-empt operational challenges and ensure scalability.

Mr Osmond said: “I am excited to join Norco at such a pivotal phase in its journey. The company’s early adoption of large-format 3-D printing positions it as a pioneer in the UK market. I look forward to contributing my expertise to help Norco solidify its leadership in this space and drive meaningful innovation.”

His extensive background in AM and business development uniquely qualifies him to navigate the complexities of this evolving industry. By drawing on established industry relationships and in-depth knowledge of the market, he will play a key role in positioning Norco as a leader in large-format 3-D printing. Mr Osmond’s long-term vision includes fostering internal development, supporting team growth, and ensuring that Norco’s manufacturing processes remain at the forefront of technology. By combining short-term operational improvements with a strategic focus on AM, he is set to make a lasting impact.

Norco’s managing director Mark Northey concluded: “Max’s expertise in AM aligns perfectly with our strategic vision for growth and innovation. His contributions will be instrumental in helping us achieve our operational goals and delivering superior solutions to our clients.”
