Trumpf punch laser machine is now more productive

Trumpf punch laser machine is now more productiveAt its recent INTECH in-house exhibition, Trumpf showcased a new way for companies to further automate their punching and laser cutting processes. The company achieved this by connecting its highly productive TruMatic 5000 punch laser machine to an automated storage system from STOPA.

This allows the machine to work independently for 24hr without the need for personnel to be present. The set up enables companies to both increase productivity as well as relieve the burden on employees. In addition to the automatic material feed, the machine with the STOPA storage system is also able to independently change material and send finished parts back to the storage tower.

IntechThese processes would previously have required an employee with a forklift truck. Trumpf product manager Thomas Conzelmann said: “The combination of our highly productive TruMatic 5000 punch laser machine and the STOPA storage system helps companies to expand their factory into a smart factory. The solution not only manufactures parts highly productively, but also independently takes care of the upstream and downstream work steps. This reduces less-productive times and increases our customers competitiveness.”

The solution also helps to improve the flow of materials in production. Linked to the Trumpf Oseon software, the TruMatic 5000 always knows which material it needs for the next job — and feeds it in independently. This means that the production system can continue to work seamlessly when a job is finished. Trumpf presented the TruMatic 5000 for the first time at the BlechExpo trade fair in 2023.

Companies can use the TruMatic 5000 to cut, punch and form parts. With its 6kW laser, it is suitable for use with a wide range of materials. It also features a ToolMaster for automated tool changes and a Sheet Master, which ensures the flow of material between the machine and the warehouse.
