KMF (Precision Sheet Metal) Ltd (www.kmf.co.uk) is holding an Open Day in Newcastle under Lyme on Wednesday 6 February (as part of National Apprenticeship Week) to give students and parents the opportunity to see how a modern engineering apprenticeship can deliver a worthwhile career with lots of potential.
Having increased its turnover by 50% over the last two years, KMF has also raised its staff levels — to more than 350. In addition to recruiting skilled workers, it is looking to develop its own skills base through apprenticeships and intends to take on 16 more apprentices this year.
To aid that recruitment process, it is hosting two Open Days, including the one on 6 February. Training-centre manager Jenny Conlon says: “These Open Days will provide a fantastic opportunity for parents/guardians and students to get a first-hand look at the potential that a career in engineering can provide. They will get to see the factory in operation, witness the level of investment and technology at KMF and be able to chat with training staff and current apprentices.”
The doors will be open from 12.00 until 20.00, and there is no need to make an appointment. The second Open Day will be held on Wednesday 18 April.
