‘The Challenge to Your Business’

Over 300 people accepted an invitation to share their machining challenges with the Sandvik Coromant team at its UK Productivity Centre last month. As well as seeing live demonstrations of the company’s latest products, visitors to this four-day event in Halesowen were able to get close to a Brawn GP Formula One car — and 10 of them won a trip to the Brawn GP factory and headquarters in Brackley.

Scheduled presentations throughout the day addressed the question of gaining competitive advantage by achieving lower price per component and reduced lead times through increased productivity in core application areas.

Visitors also had the opportunity to hear the views of leading industry figures such as: Graham Dewhurst, director of the Manufacturing Technologies Association; Geoff Bryant, managing director of Citizen Machinery; and Marcus Burton, managing director of Yamazaki Mazak UK. A number of Productivity Centre partners, including Edgecam and Roemheld, supported the event.
