Over 60 of Britain’s leading sub-contractors have already signed up for Subcon 2010, the
international exhibition for manufacturing services, which takes place 8-10 June at the NEC, near Birmingham. The event is set to build on the record-breaking 2009 show, which saw visitor numbers up by 30%.
Event director Ron Cordeiro says that, with capital expenditure still hard to fund or justify, more and more companies are looking to sub-contract work. “UK companies have an unprecedented opportunity to win back work that has previously gone overseas. However, to do that, they have to put themselves in front of the buyers. . . There has never been a better time for British sub-contractors to make their case in a global market, and Subcon is the place to make it.”
Some of the leading British sub-contractors that have re-booked for Subcon (based on their success in 2009) include Manx Engineers, Bright Spark, Cirrus Laser, Arnold Engineering Plastics, DJJ Precision Engineering, Syspal, Axis Precision Engineering Components, Precision Engineering Pieces, JP Forrest, RSC, Responsive Engineering, Muller England,
Presspart, Batten & Allen and Broxton.
New exhibitors for 2010 include contract electronic manufacturer Danlers, plastics specialists LGG Charlesworth and Poly Net, fabricators GSM Valtech, Akramatic, Geotech and Bird Stevens, as well as large component specialist Stephenson Engineering and turning, milling and laser marking company WLR Engineering.
