STG Aerospace opens Shanghai subsidiaryThe Norfolk-based aircraft cabin-lighting specialist STG Aerospace (www.stgaerospace.com/en) has opened a new facility in Shanghai, which will provide services for its SafTglo and SafTsign emergency floor-path products. The company said the Shanghai subsidiary will provide a base for the on-going development of cabin lighting for the Chinese market and will offer a higher level of service to its customers, including China Eastern, Shenzhen and China Southern Airlines.

Nigel Duncan, CEO of STG Aerospace, said: “This new subsidiary will not only help us to enhance the service we provide for our Chinese customers, but also enable us to involve local companies and local people in the delivery of innovative research-based cabin-lighting solutions.”

Furthermore, the company has just announced a new contract from Embraer, which will see it supply emergency floor-path lighting for the next generation of Embraer aircraft (being launched in 2017). Marcus Williams, STG Aerospace’s sales and marketing director, said: “This is excellent news for the company. Becoming a Tier One supplier to yet another major manufacturer is a further validation of the product’s pre-eminent position in terms of cost, performance, safety and brand-enhancing cabin aesthetics.”
