Henton invests in five-axis working

Henton invests in five-axis workingLeicestershire-based Henton Engineering, a machining and fine-grinding specialist that is part of the Nasmyth Group, has bought an additional five-axis machining centre for its plant in Hinckley. The extra capacity will be used primarily to produce components for the aerospace industry.

Henton Engineering specialises in the production of large, complex, sectioned ring and prismatic components, typically in the diameter range 200mm to 2m. The company produces parts in a range of materials, including aluminium, titanium, nimonic and stellite, as well as other exotic and high-temperature alloys.

Peter Smith, who is chairman and CEO of Nasmyth Group,said: “This new investment in Henton Engineering is part of an on-going programme to ensure that the Group has the resources and the technologies needed to meet customers’ needs across all of our global markets.”
