KeTech secures fundingKeTech (www.ketech.com), which develops rail communication systems, has secured a £5 million capital investment from private-equity group YFM.

Founded in 1999, the company has a turnover of £10 million and employs around 65 people at its Nottingham headquarters plus branches in Preston and London.

It is currently working on a £7.2 million contract to provide train driver information systems for Bombardier and Crossrail. In the past, it has completed work for the Ministry of Defence, London Underground, Gatwick Airport and Northern Rail.

Ian Waterfield, investment director at YFM, said: “Growing rail passenger numbers and continued security threats all signal strong market opportunities for KeTech’s products. We will partner with the management team to address increased demand for the company’s products from the UK and overseas.”

Chief executive Steve Berg added: “The new investment from YFM Equity Partners comes on the back of a strong year of growth for KeTech.”
