BMW order for Demag

Demag Cranes AG, Düsseldorf (www.demagcranes.com), has reinforced its position as a supplier to the automotive sector with the receipt of a major order from BMW. It is to supply a total of 28 cranes that will serve press lines at BMW plants in Leipzig, Regensburg and Dingolfing. The order comprises 23 process cranes (with lifting capacities up to 55 tonnes), two semi-portal cranes, one full-portal crane and two standard cranes. This is Demag’s second significant order from BMW in recent years; in 2008, it supplied nine process cranes for the same three plants.
Executive vice-president Lars Brzoska says: “We focus on sustainability in our customer relationships, and we endeavour to demonstrate the proven reliability and efficiency of our products and services. We are pleased that BMW is continuing to count on us.”
