Haco Q3 draws the crowds

Haco Q3 draws the crowdsMACH 2016Attracting much attention on the stand of Kingsland Engineering Co Ltd, Sheringham, Norfolk (www.kingsland.com) — which is part of the Haco group of companies — was the Haco Q3 turret punch press.

This features a 22- or 30-tonne high-speed servo hydraulic punching head and a rotation axis for all tools.

Also included are a large brush table, fast AC-servo driven X and Y axes with stroke of 2,032 and 1,524mm respectively, and three hydraulic sheet clamps with a minimal ‘dead zone’ of 225 x 95mm.

The high-speed punching head, along with the possibility of fast rotation on all tools, ensures short production times with a minimum number of tools. Tool rotation is accomplished by means of two synchronised torque motors (punch and die) that provide direct drive and are backlash-free.

The TPS 84S Graphics control, which is based on a Siemens 840 D, has a 22in high-definition touch-screen and a particularly intuitive user interface.

Automation with part-sorting capability and complete warehouse systems are available with the Q-series punching machines.

Also on show was a new Haco PressMaster press brake. Compared with the previous models, this machine features increased daylight opening, a new CNC system, and the all-new SyncView system (this allows the operator to watch both the screen and the workpiece simultaneously during a bending cycle).

An 8in tablet screen travels automatically to the position above the area to be worked on, removing the need for operators to divide their attention between the machine and a static screen.

The tablet provides full 3-D viewing of the bending process, allowing operators to understand the sequence of steps and carry them out quickly. User tests have shown that time savings of up to 25% can be achieved — and the tablet provides a safe and comfortable way of working.

The PressMaster also features Multi-Touch, a compact control that offers ease of use and a 24in touch-screen. Moreover, the machine can be used for tandem, tridem and automated (robotic) bending.

The PressMaster range offers bending capacities of 750-2,500kN, bending lengths of 2,000-4,300mm, and an accuracy of ±0.01mm on beam parallelism and depth setting. With regard to speed, the 1,500kN model has a 200mm/sec fast approach and 170mm/sec return speed.
