The Wood Group (
www.woodgroup.com) has won a multi-million-dollar contract for an offshore platform in Brazil. The oil and gas services giant says that the deal will see it provide detailed engineering, design and procurement services for the Peregrino Field wellhead platform C, which is owned by Norway’s Statoil and its Chinese partner Sinochem.
Wood Group’s Mustang arm, which previously designed Peregrino wellhead platforms A and B, will carry out the work. The division’s chief executive, Michele McNichol, said: “Mustang’s proven ability to deliver cost-
effective and efficient solutions was a key enabler to obtaining the contract.”
In December, Aberdeen-based Wood Group said it would create about 250 jobs after Mustang secured a $400 million deal
to provide maintenance and modification services for four Statoil installations — Grane, Snorre A and B and Visund — in the Norwegian continental shelf.
