CNF Precision is about to take delivery of its fourth Matsuura machining centre — a five-axis MX-520 — to cope with growing demand from customers in the USA and China.
The Aylesbury-based sub-contractor already has a 32-pallet five-axis Matsuura MAM72-35V, two Matsuura H.Plus-300 machines, Nakamura multi-axis mill-turn machines and Citizen sliding-head machines; the MX-520 has been added to further enhance its prototyping and small-batch production capacity.
Managing director Neil Fearnley says: “The addition of the MX-520 will enable us to rapidly turn round complex prototypes. By extending our five-axis prototyping and small-batch capability, we will be able to win more long-term production contracts that arrive off the back of turning out more prototype projects.
“Our work for non-EU countries continues to increase, and we are confident that the Brexit vote will have a positive impact on our export business, as trade agreements with the UK are established across the world.”
Ian Michie, marketing executive for Matsuura Machinery Ltd (
www.matsuura.co.uk), said: “Neil Fearnley at CNF typifies the underlying optimism in UK manufacturing. From SMEs to ‘blue chip’ companies, there is major investment going into the UK post-Brexit.”
