As the sole distributor for Ajax Machine Tools in Northern England, Noon Machinery Services Ltd will be hosting an Open House on 16-17 November (www.noonmachine.com) .

The Stockport-based machine tool specialist will have five Ajax machines on show, including the new Ultraturn lathe — plus a wide variety of workshop equipment and supporting technology from industry partners.

Designed to appeal to users ranging from sub-contract workshops to educational establishments, the Ultraturn features a four-way automatic tool-post, a three-jaw chuck, a 400m swing and 750mm between centres.

It can be specified with either a Fagor 8037 conversational control or the Siemens 808D CNC system. Also on show will be an AJL200 manual lathe, which offers a variable-speed control with three spindle speed ranges and constant surface speed.

On the milling front, there will be an Ajax AJV550 vertical machining centre, which has a 7.5kW motor, 10- or 16-position tool changer and the choice of a Fanuc or Heidenhain CNC.

For machinists looking for a manual solution, Noon Machinery will be demonstrating the Ajax AJT200 manual turret mill. Technology partners include Heidenhain, Blue Range Tools, Nikken, Zoller and One CNC.
