Jaguar Land Rover has formed a partnership with a Birmingham secondary school to help the pupils prepare for work.
The vehicle manufacturer is a member of the Business In The Community scheme, part of which involves companies focusing on helping school students make the most of their potential (

JLR will offer pupils support and training opportunities at the nearby Jaguar plant in Castle Bromwich. They will learn how to “construct a strong job application, take part in a ‘buddy’ scheme within the manufacturing industry and learn about career opportunities at JLR”.
The partnership will also see the launch of a reading programme to support pupils studying English as an additional language, while JLR will hold events at the school to raise awareness of its programmes such as Young Women In The Know.
Gregg Niblett, sports car facility manager at JLR, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to really engage with the community and help our schools and their students to make the most of their potential.
“We are the largest employer in the area, which we believe is a hot-bed of young talent. Whether or not they choose a career in manufacturing or engineering, we’re proud to be able to offer our support.”
