A West Yorkshire engineering company says that it expects to increase its output by 80% after moving to a 35,000ft2 site with the help of a £1.7 million finance package from the Yorkshire Bank.
MTE Heat Treatment (
www.mteltd.co.uk) has relocated from Meltham, near Holmfirth, to a purpose-built facility on a 2.5-acre plot in Slaithwaite.
The company already employs 30 people, and that number is expected to increase by a third over the next few years. Equipped with the latest technology and testing facilities, it can service a broad client base, including automotive customers.
Director Geoff Windas said: “Part of the finance package was used to fund two new £1 million ‘state of the art’ furnaces. They will be the first of their kind in the UK and will give us a significant competitive edge in the sub-contract heat treatment market. We were constrained by lack of space in our old premises.”
Mike Edwards, relationship manager at Yorkshire Bank, arranged the funding. He said: “MTE Heat Treatment has been a customer of ours for over 10 years, and we’ve been delighted to watch them grow organically, especially over the past three years. We are proud to be involved in the next stage of their development and wish them every success in their new premises.”
