Truckman (www.truckman.co.uk), the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of 4x4 vehicle accessories, is aiming to boost its export activities, with a particular focus on the Northern Europe market.

The Dudley-based company, which manufactures hard-tops for pick-up trucks and distributes a range of vehicle accessories, has mainly focused on the UK market, with international sales accounting for only around 10% of its business.

However, the company aims to more than double its export activity by targeting countries including Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Sweden.

While the UK remains Europe’s largest market for pick-up trucks, the combined numbers in Germany, France, Spain and Sweden are of similar size and offer a significant opportunity for Truckman — hence the company’s appointment of Bert Hubrechts as its field-based European sales manager.

Mr Hubrechts said: “British manufacturing is well regarded in Europe, and there is a real opportunity to grow Truckman’s presence there.
