The University of Warwick (
www2.warwick.ac.uk) has signed up to a new Government programme that will see its engineering expertise exported to China.
The university’s School of Engineering is now part of the Government-funded partnership of Russell Group Universities, which is looking to collaborate with the top nine engineering institutions in China.
The partnership was set up with the help of the Department of Business — and supported by the British Council — in a move designed to promote Anglo-Chinese collaborations around research and education.
The aim is to improve the quality of engineering research and teaching in China and to generate much-needed revenues for the universities involved.
Alongside the University of Warwick, the others in the partnership include: Queen’s University Belfast (which is leading the initiative), Birmingham University, Cardiff University, Nottingham University and University College London.
