A Kent-based manufacturer of replacement parts for industrial diesel engines has secured a £250,000 package from Bibby Financial Services. Gravesend Marine said that the deal combines specialist export finance and integrated foreign-exchange facilities (www.gravesendmarine.co.uk).

The company was founded more than 25 years ago, supplying ship and power-plant operators with high-quality parts for their rotor and generator engines.

It exports parts to over 15 countries, including Italy, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Indonesia, Singapore, Brazil and South Korea.

Chief executive Andrew Park said: “What attracted us to Bibby Financial Services was its global presence, in addition to its expertise in supporting businesses trading overseas.

“The support we are now receiving allows us to focus on expanding into foreign markets without having to worry about on-going working capital or managing foreign-exchange risk.

“Additionally, having a financial-services partner that can take away the headache associated with chasing payment in different languages is a huge benefit.”
