Metaltech 2017 — ASEAN’s largest international machine tool and metal-working exhibition — takes place 24-27 May at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Now in its 23rd year, this event attracts market-leading companies from all over the world, and this year promises to be one of the best yet, with over 2,000 exhibitors occupying a total floor area of 35,000m² to ensure that visitors have the opportunity to preview many of the latest technologies and innovations shaping the future of manufacturing in South East Asia.

There will also be five international pavilions — hosted by South Korea, China, Singapore, India and Taiwan.

Metaltech is organised by Trade Link ITE Sdn Bhd (a merger of local exhibition provider Trade Link and London-based exhibition provider ITE Group) and is endorsed by various Malaysian ministries and government departments, including the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation and UFI.

The technologies on show will cater to a wide variety of industry sectors, including aerospace, automation, marine/offshore, metalworking, energy, electrical, electronics, medical, automotive, machinery and equipment, and machining services. In addition, visitors will be able to see the best in automation technology at co-locating exhibition Automex 2017.

Being launched at Metaltech this year is a series of seminars customised around four central topics: Industry 4.0 and The Internet of Things; Partnership and Investment; Latest Technologies and New Innovations; and The Smart Factory: Where Is Sheet Metal Technology Heading?

Each topic will be discussed over the course of a day, with opinion leaders from world-leading companies set to make presentations and take questions from the audience.

Alongside the seminars, Metaltech will be hosting a personalised business ‘matchmaking’ programme designed to match visitors with exhibitors according to their technologies and industrial profiles.
