A new science park is to be created in Hampshire. The new development — at Hoeford Point near Gosport — will comprise four three-storey buildings with a total space of more than 60,000ft
2 (along with 222 car parking spaces and 74 cycle spaces).
Developer Wickham Laboratories is a contract analytical testing laboratory serving the medical-device industry. A company statement said: “The site at Gosport offers an opportunity to encourage and develop like-minded R&D businesses.”
Councillor Sean Woodward, leader of Fareham Borough Council, said: “While unemployment among Gosport residents of working age is very low, over half of them need to leave the Gosport peninsula to get to work, which contributes significantly to traffic issues.
“To have a new business park in Gosport will be a very important addition to the employment offer on the peninsular.”
