Shoreham-based Ricardo (ricardo.com) has been awarded a contract to manufacture the advanced transmission for the Aston Martin Valkyrie ‘hyper-car’, which is the result of an Innovation Partnership between the car maker and Red Bull Advanced Technologies.

Ricardo has already been working with Aston Martin on the design and development of the Valkyrie’s transmission, but with the contract signed, it is confirmed that Ricardo will undertake series production of the transmission, commencing in 2019.

A multi-year programme will see the production of no more than 150 road-going Valkyrie ‘hyper-cars’ and 25 track-only versions.
