Houghton goes digital with industry webinarsManchester-based Houghton International are leaping into the digital sphere with a series of forward-thinking, open industry webinars, the first of which takes pace on Tuesday, 18 July, 10-11am, discussing the latest HSE (Health and Safety Executive) guidelines on the use of metalworking fluids.

Houghton are a global leader in delivering advanced metalworking fluids and services for the automotive, aerospace, metals, mining, machinery, offshore and beverage industries.

After recently announcing their acquisition by Quaker Chemical at the launch of their Customer Solutions Centre in Manchester, Houghton are making bold and brave industrial steps by sharing internal expertise with the wider market through a series of upcoming technical webinars.

This first webinar will discuss the updated HSE guidelines with a focus on manufacturing and productivity. It will provide and insight into proposed changes and how Houghton can support customers through a range of flexible service programmes, backed up by technical expertise, equipment solutions and training options.

As thought-leaders and technical advisors, Houghton have active participants attending the UKLA and HSE review meetings and are a key advisor to the metalworking fluid steering group responsible for producing the new MWF (metalworking fluid) guidelines to be issued Q3 2017.

The HSE require that all MWF users take all reasonably practicable steps to maintain fluids in good condition and to reduce workers exposure: Houghton offer a combination of products and services to reduce MWF health risks.

The flagship webinar will be presented by Steve Rushton, Metalworking Product Line Manager at Houghton. He said: “At Houghton, we work closely with the HSE through our membership of the UK Lubricants Association (metalworking product stewardship group).

“We feel it is important as the industry leader in metalworking fluids to make sure all our customers are aware of changes in legislation relating to metalworking fluids and provide support with HSE information.”
