Another XYZ/WNT track day success

Another XYZ/WNT track day successLast month’s fifth-anniversary WNT (UK)/XYZ Machine Tools customer motorcycle track day at Lincolnshire’s Cadwell Park exceeded all expectations, with very good weather and some exciting track action involving both customers and instructors.

This event has gone from strength to strength in its first five years, and many customers now arrive a day early to take part in the informative track walk and enjoy a fish-and-chips supper.

WNT’s Tony Pennington said: “The evening before is becoming ever more popular, which is great. The chip shop worked hard to deliver 95 portions, the sun shone, and those who walked the circuit got some valuable pointers from the professional instructors, led by Team WNT/Burman Racing’s very own Sam Burman.”

The following morning, the participants were split into three groups and headed out onto the track. There were some excellent track times, with the dry conditions allowing limits to be pushed, and some lucky participants were treated — during the lunchtime break — to a fast lap in the circuit’s BMW M-sport safety car, driven by BSB star Peter
Hickman (pictured above).

WNT (UK)’s Dan Atkinson said: “The track day is a great opportunity for customers to get together and network, as well as being one of the major events on the WNT calendar, where we continue to raise significant amounts for our chosen charities — the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK.”

Mike Corbett, XYZ Machine Tools’ applications manager, said: “This event is fantastic in bringing people with similar attitudes together, and many new friendships are developed during the day.

“I would also like to thank the instructors who provided their time and knowledge, which I know is welcomed by all concerned.”
